LCA's Annual Speech Meet is just another aspect of leadership training. Although students have many opportunities to speak in groups and in front of classmates in order to get comfortable with public speaking, the Speech Meet takes it to the next level. Students choose their own piece of work (literature, poem, etc.), spend time memorizing and practicing their text and then presenting it to their peers while being graded on everything from tone, body language, posture, speed, clarity and more. Before kicking off today's Talent Show, Speech Meet awards were given to all students who had earned an excellent or superior ribbon. Congratulations leaders!
