October brought many opportunities to celebrate family, friendship, and community at Leadership Christian Academy. From our annual Grandparents Day to an evening together at Sisson’s Pumpkin Patch, these traditions reminded us that some of the most meaningful parts of a child's education happen through relationships. At LCA, we believe a strong school community plays an important role in helping students feel known, supported, and encouraged as they grow.

Celebrating the Relationships That Bring Us Together

One of our favorite traditions, Grandparents Day, brought generations together for a morning of fun and connection. Students welcomed their loved ones into the school for activities including crafts, bingo, and cookies. It was a special opportunity for grandparents and friends to experience a little of their students' school day and spend meaningful time together.

Later in the month, LCA families gathered at Sisson's Pumpkin Patch for a beautiful fall evening. Between exploring the corn maze, enjoying hot cocoa, and spending time with friends, families had the chance to connect outside the usual routines of the school day.

While these events looked different, they shared the same purpose: creating opportunities for relationships to grow. They gave students, parents, grandparents, and staff time to enjoy one another's company and strengthen the connections that make LCA a community.

Why School Community Matters

A strong school community offers children something that reaches far beyond academics: a sense of belonging. When students feel known and valued by the people around them, they have a foundation of encouragement and support that helps them grow in confidence, build friendships, and navigate challenges.

These relationships also create opportunities for students to practice the values we seek to develop at LCA. Through interactions with classmates, teachers, younger students, and older generations, children learn to show kindness, respect others, serve willingly, and recognize the importance of caring for those around them. These everyday experiences are an important part of faith and character formation.

For families, community means knowing they are not walking through their child's education alone. Relationships between parents, teachers, and school leadership help build trust, encourage communication, and create a shared commitment to each student's growth. When families and educators work together, children benefit from a consistent environment of care, guidance, and encouragement.

More Than a School

At Leadership Christian Academy, community is not simply something we celebrate at special events. It is part of the everyday experience we hope to provide for every student and family.

Our October traditions were wonderful reminders of the relationships that make LCA special. As we continue through the school year, we are grateful for the families, grandparents, teachers, and friends who help make our school a place where students can grow academically, spiritually, and personally.
