The Academy's third through sixth grades serve monthly at the Soldiers & Sailors home. The residents miss seeing the kids, but our students sorely miss visiting the residents as well. Some students have taken on activities to continue their relationships with "friends" they've made at S&S. We've had students do Zoom calls with residents and others create artwork. Our service at S&S isn't something our students "have to do," it's something they love to do.
From an LCA MOM: Our time at Soldiers and Sailors is missed by all and especially the residents with no visitors allowed. As an employee I am sure it is also difficult! We decided to make some crosses to bless and encourage our friends there! My aunt works there so I plan to drop these off to her (no contact). You could always drop them off yourself or mail them.
