Although the Erie area has experienced about 50% less snow than our average, the groundhog still seems to be correct! But because we've had so little snow, the students are excited to get outside and make the most of it!

From a Cleveland Clinic article (see the link below):

Building snowmen and taking on sledding hills can bring on a lot of giggles and squeals. Outdoor activities like these can also provide many benefits for kids. Those benefits include:

  • Strengthening motor skills.

  • Improving overall health and muscle strength.

  • Promoting the use of their senses.

  • Encouraging independence.

  • Allowing the use of creativity and imagination.

  • Opportunities to learn about nature.

It's "Throw-Back Tuesday" to last week when we celebrated Dr. Suess's Birthday! We had fun making hats for the "Cat in the Hat" with the 3rd and 4th graders! And we also celebrated with Kindergarten through 4th grade by cozying up and reading some Suess books together!

Middle School held their own Speech Meet last week. Throughout February, they researched a historical figure, wrote a speech and memorized their speech. They then presented their speech to the entire middle school. Great job, Middle School!
