Foodie Friday

Today was "Foodie Friday" for the 3rd and 4th graders!  While making donuts, we worked on math (adding/doubling), following directions (listening skills), working together (teamwork) and writing a recipe review (English)!

 

Hands-on learning is a form of education in which children learn by doing. Instead of simply listening to a teacher or instructor lecture about a given subject, the student engages with the subject matter to solve a problem or create something.  Hands-on learning brings so many benefits to students, including: (1) It is a more engaging way to learn.  (2) It can lead to increased retention.  (3) It can offer practice in problem solving and critical thinking.  (4) It often results in a physical creation. **From the Friends' Central School Blog
