Each month, the 5th & 6th Graders host Book Club! At the beginning of the month each student chooses his or her own appropriate book. During Book Club, each student orally explains the book they've reported on to the class and then takes questions from classmates. The student is also required to write a brief book report that is typed with necessary information and correct spelling, punctuation and paragraph format...meeting a standard of excellence. Not only does this train up the student in following directions while meeting high standards, but it also tests their retention, spelling, grammar, public speaking and public responding. All of these benefits of Book Club...AND everyone enjoys a fun snack as well!
